2009 Best Floral Award / 2009

The floral "Orange Canna" was awarded the 2009 Best Floral Award at the International Guild of Realism Fourth Annual Juried Exhibition at The Weatherburn Gallery in Naples, Florida. This is the first year a Floral Award was introduced as a new category.
Organizers received more than 200 entries from 14 countries. These included Belarus, China, Finland, Iceland, India, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Russia and Thailand in addition to the US, Canada and Mexico. The exhibition features classical and contemporary realism styles spanning trompe l'oeil, photorealism, surrealism and hyper-realism created in a range of media including charcoal, pencil, watercolor, acrylic and egg tempera as well as oils.
The entries were evaluated by a panel of professionals and reduced to a short list of 45 finalists. Shortly before the show's opening, judges selected the award winners which were announced during the opening reception. All works will be available for purchase and will remain on display until March 2, 2009.

Three Paintings Juried into "Salon International 2009"

The oil paintings "Incognito", "Canal Scene - Venice, Italy" and "Monika's Orange Lily" were juried into the "Salon International 2009" Exhibition. This juried exhibition is a project of the International Museum of Contemporary Masters and will be hosted by Greenhouse Gallery of Fine Art in San Antonio, Texas.
Daniel E. Greene, N.A., considered one of the foremost realist painters of our time, will be the the judge for this event and will be awarding over $25,750 in prizes. The Awards Banquet will be held on April 10, 2009 and the exhibition dates are April 11 - May 1, 2009.
