Study for an Upcoming Major Work / 2009

I am currently working on a major painting and this is one of the studies leading up to the final piece.  This study is painted on an 10"x8" custom-made panel.  What you are seeing here is the grisaille layer of paint.  Grisaille is supposed to resemble a painting in moonlight.  This will strengthen the color layers that will be applied next.   I will keep you posted via this blog as this painting progresses.
